Adolescence has always been hard. But what young people are navigating today is genuinely different. The pressure is relentless, the comparisons are constant, and there is very little space to fall apart safely without it meaning something about who you are.
I work with teenagers who are struggling in ways that do not always have an obvious name. Some are overwhelmed by school, family, or the weight of trying to figure out who they are. Some are dealing with anxiety that has started to shrink their world. Some have ADHD and have spent years feeling like they are failing at something everyone else makes look easy.
Some are simply exhausted from performing okay when they are not.
This is a space where they do not have to perform.
I am not here to tell your teenager who they should be or how they should feel. I am here to understand who they already are and what is getting in the way of them trusting that. Therapy with adolescents works best when it feels like a conversation, not a session, and when they are given space to engage in their own way and at their own pace.
We do not just talk things through. We also pay attention to what is happening underneath the surface, so your teen can begin to feel more settled, more understood, and more like themselves again.
For parents, I know how much courage it takes to reach out on behalf of your child. I do not take that lightly. I will keep you informed and involved in a way that also protects the trust your teenager needs to do this work.
This work is most effective when your teen is at least somewhat open to being here, even if they are not sure why yet.
Whatever is happening for your teen right now, they do not have to figure it out alone.
