Couples/Marriage Therapy

By the time most couples come in, they have been having some version of the same conversation for years. Not because they are not trying, but because the conversation keeps missing what is underneath it.

What you are fighting about is rarely what you are actually hurting about.

Most couples get stuck in patterns. The same trigger, the same reaction, the same distance afterward. What looks like a communication problem is usually a nervous system problem. Two people trying to feel safe with each other, using strategies that stopped working long ago, often learned long before this relationship even began.

I work with couples who love each other and cannot seem to stop wounding each other. Couples who have drifted and are not sure how to find their way back. Couples navigating betrayal, grief, or a life transition that changed who they are in ways neither of them expected.

Whatever brought you here, I am not interested in taking sides. I am interested in what is happening between you underneath the conflict. What each of you is actually needing, and what it would take for both of you to feel safe enough to actually reach each other.

I have spent two decades sitting with people in real pain. I know what it takes to hold two people at once without losing either of them.

The couples I work best with are not looking to prove a point or win an argument, but are willing to look honestly at themselves and the pattern between them.

If both of you are willing to show up in that way, something can shift that has not been able to shift before.
